Further Information
Features of Interest
-  'Beck' is the northern word for 'brook', so we know there was a watercourse here before it was made into a canal.  Described as Beverley's lifeline before the railway, the beck linked the town with the River Hull.  This access to the Humber and Europe helped Beverley to become a major river port.
