  • From the Minster's north door walk along Highgate (opposite you).
  • At Wednesday Market pass through the pedestrianised shopping area of Butcher Row and Toll Gavel.
  • Walk along the pavement of Saturday Market Place and then turn left along the public footpath (passage) next to the electrical shop called 'Briggs and Powell'.
  • Once across Lairgate, head into Newbegin and walk uphill along Westwood Road to the end of the built-up area.
  • Turn right onto the Westwood Common and follow the tarmac path to the rear of the hospital, and then across Willow Row Bridge to Sterne's Corner.
  • Cross the road with care and continue past the edge of the racecourse into a narrow path by Beverley College.
  • Turn right into Gallows Lane and then right again to walk along New Walk and North Bar Within.
  • Turn left at St Mary's Church along Hengate, right onto Ladygate and then go left along Sow Hill and past the bus station.
  • Take a sharp right onto Walkergate (a pedestrianised street) and emerge onto Butcher Row.
  • Keep to the right-hand side of Wednesday Market to pick up Highgate for your return to the Minster.
