Enjoy a short circular (or triangular perhaps) walk in the fields and along the bank of Foston Beck.  The surrounding area includes several important trout streams which form the headwaters of the river Hull.

Description
  • Start at the Plough Inn (please ask before leaving cars at the pub).
  • Walk past the church and shortly after turn right along a track, and then pass along a field footpath.  Follow the path around the field until you reach Foston Beck.
  • Head southward alongside the beck until you reach Cowslams Lane at Sheepdike Bridge.
  • To your right and across the road is another public footpath which leads through Mill Farm.  Once through the farm you will arrive at the mill pool. 
  • Cross over the wooden 'bridge' and follow Mill Lane back to your start point.

Features of Interest
-  Some of the trout in the pool below Mill Farm are real monsters and will rise if you throw bread into the water.  However, fishing here is strictly private.
