Description
  • This short but interesting walk links the two villages which make up the parish of Hutton Cranswick.  You start by the side of the White Horse pub close to Cranswick Green (don't call in for a drink just yet!).
  • Follow the path through the pub car park in a northerly direction to enter field paths.  Bear left around the edge of enclosures to reach Hutton via Church Street and Howl Lane.
  • Follow the footpath leading south next to No. 32 Howl Lane.  This runs parallel with the railway line and zigzags before ending at Station Road in Cranswick.
  • Go over the level crossing.  After about 200 yards go southward along Sheepman Lane before you turn off across Priest Ings Keld to the railway.
  • Follow field paths and a track westward across the southern end of South Gate and then northward back to Cranswick Green.  You may now need a refreshing drink in the pub.
