  • Turn right out of the car park and follow the road to Harswell.  After passing the last house on the right, turn right onto the bridleway and follow the stream towards Brouncey Farm.  Just before the farm buildings turn left onto another bridleway running along the north side of the hedge line.  Turn left at the end of the hedge and look for the bridge on your right.  Cross the bridge and follow the bridleway to the road.
  • Turn left onto the road towards Everingham.  At the next junction either carry straight on into Everingham or extend your ride by turning left onto the bridleway.  To use the longer route take the bridleway along the wood edge to Park Farm.  Turn right when you reach the farm road and follow it through the wood to the junction with the road.  Turn right and follow the road to Everingham.  On your way you will get one of the best views of Everingham Hall.
  • Once in Everingham short route riders should turn right at the junction and long route riders should carry straight on at the junction and follow the road to Seaton Ross.
  • Continue straight on through Seaton Ross village, watching out for the windmill and the 12-feet diameter sundial.  The Bay Horse is handy for refreshments.  Follow the winding lane for approximately 2 miles to the T-junction.  Turn left at the T-junction and follow the road for 200 yards to the corner.  Next turn left onto the Rail Trail.  Follow the Trail back past Holme-on-Spalding-Moor to Harswell.
  • This circular ride is taken from "Humberside on Horseback" and is included by kind permission of the British Horse Society.

Features of Interest
- Seaton Ross is one of the prettiest villages in the East Riding, and has been placed several times in the "Britain in Bloom" competition. The best time to see the flowers is in early spring and at the annual agricultural show which is held the first weekend in July.

- As you walk through the village keep a lookout for one of the cottages which has a 12-feet diameter sundial on it.

- Everingham is a quiet and quaint village with some interesting architectural styles. Everingham Hall was once the home of one of the country's leading catholic families, the Constables. The grounds were landscaped by Thomas Knowlton. The local Italian-style chapel is called St Everilda and was completed in 1839.
