Description
  • Start from Waterside House, to the east of Saltmarshe and head northwards along the lane to Metham Hall.
  • Turn left along the road to Laxton and cross the railway line with care and continue on the road to a left-hand bend, where you turn right to follow a long, wide bridleway called Skelton Broad Lane.
  • On arriving at Balkholme ride through the village and turn left at Gate Farm to follow the lane to Kilpin.
  • Just south of the village, turn right along another bridleway to Kilpin Pike.
  • At the road turn left, away from the wharves, and pass through Skelton.
  • Just before the railway bridge turn left again and after a short distance pass under the railway.
  • Continue along the lane into Saltmarshe and return to the start.
