Further Information
Features of Interest
-  Kirby Underdale church, All Saints, lies in a beautiful setting in the hillside by the Kirby beck.  Have a look around the churchyard at the Halifax graves and the stone coffin.  Can you find the 'board game' scratched in the exterior wall?

-  The village has many old cottages with spiralling chimneys and is part of Lord Halifax's Garrowby Estate.  It must have hardly changed since Bishop Thirlwall finished his History of Greece in 1834 in the rectory here.
