Description
  • Start from the main street and walk into St. Monica's Close almost opposite the pub.  Take the public footpath off to the left; it lies behind housing and leads to fields.
  • Use field paths to reach Coach Road Plantation, to pass by Melbourne Hall and to reach Park Farm on Ash Lane.
  • Walk along Ash Lane for a short distance and then turn right onto the footpath leading to Bracepits Wood.  Pass along the side of the wood and then turn off the path to Intakes Lane.
  • Continue westward to, and through, Eastroad Plantation, turning north towards Westfield Farm.  Cross the road, walk past the farm and cross the Pocklington Canal bridge.
  • Turn right, along the northern canal bank and past the first bridge over the canal.  At the second bridge cross the canal and walk alongside the cut with its boats.
  • Emerge onto the main street where you started.
