  • From the car park turn right and follow Main Street to All Saints Church.
  • Directly opposite, next to the butcher's shop a kissing gate takes you onto the ancient cobbled path known as 'Nuns Walk'.
  • The path now leads a meandering trail in a generally westward direction across a field and the garden of Kemp Field House, before passing through two gates into a pasture.
  • A farm car park, two more gates and an arable field bring you to Luck Lane, where you turn right.
  • Turn left just past West End House, and follow the enclosed path over 3 stiles to a pasture, then along the southern hedgerow.
  • Cross a stile, then a footbridge to enter Middle Lane.
  • Turn left along the lane to reach Staithes Road and turn right.
  • Immediately to your left is a public footpath which leads southward before bending left to arrive at the Rail Trail.
  • Follow the rail track, left, to the former Hedon Station site,and emerge on Station Road.
  • Left again, walk along Station Road to return to Preston.
